Spot the Cue

Support

We read every message.

Need a hand? Email support@spotthecue.com and we’ll get back to you within two business days. Please include your device and iOS version if it’s about the app — it helps us help you faster.

1. Contact us

Email: support@spotthecue.com
Typical response: within two business days.

There are no accounts and no login, so there’s nothing for us to look up on our end — the more detail you can give us (what you tapped, what you expected, what happened), the better.

2. Purchases & restoring

Full Access is a single one-time purchase. It unlocks Levels 2–6 across every cue track, out-loud speaking practice, learning paths, and stories. Level 1 stays free, forever — there is no subscription and nothing expires.

You can buy it either in the iPhone app or on the website. It’s the same contents and the same price — but because Apple and our web checkout are separate systems, restoring and refunding work differently depending on where you bought. If you’re not sure which you used, check which receipt you have: Apple emails one, Polar emails the other.

Each purchase covers where you bought it. A web unlock unlocks the web app; an App Store purchase unlocks the iPhone app. The iPhone app doesn’t have web sign-in yet, so a web purchase can’t unlock it today — honouring a web purchase in the app is on the roadmap. Buy it where you’ll actually practice, and if you bought the wrong one, email us and we’ll sort it out.

If you bought in the iOS app

Restore (new phone, reinstall, or it didn’t unlock): open the app and go to Profile → Restore purchase. Make sure you’re signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it with — the purchase is tied to your Apple Account, not to us.

Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can’t issue refunds for Apple purchases even if we’d like to.

If you bought on the website

Nothing to set up. You’re unlocked in that browser straight away — no account, no code to enter. Your receipt email is the only thing you need to keep.

Restore on another device (or if you cleared your browser data): open the app, go to Settings, and sign in with the email address you used at checkout. We’ll email you a sign-in link — no password. That link unlocks it in any browser you open it in. (It doesn’t unlock the iPhone app yet — that’s a separate App Store purchase for now.)

Used a different email by mistake, or lost the receipt? Email support@spotthecue.com and we’ll sort it out by hand.

Refunds: email support@spotthecue.com within 30 days and we’ll refund you in full, no reason needed. Payments are processed by Polar as merchant of record, so refunds are issued through them and usually take 5–10 business days to appear. “Polar” is also what shows on your card statement — if you don’t recognize a charge, that’s why.

3. Microphone & out-loud practice

Out-loud practice uses your microphone to show you a live transcript and gentle delivery feedback (pace, filler words, pauses). Everything is processed on your device. Nothing is recorded, saved, or uploaded.

If the mic isn’t working, check iOS Settings → Spot the Cue and turn on Microphone and Speech Recognition. Using the website instead? See the microphone troubleshooting guide.

You never have to use the microphone — every out-loud step is optional and can be skipped, and you can turn the out-loud step off entirely in Profile → Practice.

4. Your progress & data

Your progress lives on your device. There are no accounts and we don’t collect your practice data.

  • Back it up: Profile → Export progress saves a file you can keep.
  • Move to a new phone: Profile → Import progress and choose that file.
  • Start over: Profile → Reset all progress. (Your purchase is kept — just tap Restore purchase.)

5. Making it comfortable

Practice shouldn’t feel like a test. In Profile you can hide XP & streak, switch on calm feedback (no red “wrong” styling), or turn scoring off entirely for no-stakes practice. The app supports VoiceOver, Dynamic Type, and Reduce Motion.

6. Content & age settings

You can switch between All ages and Teen-friendly scenarios at any time in Profile → Content. Spot the Cue is a practice tool, not therapy or medical advice.

7. Privacy

See our Privacy Policy. Short version: no accounts, progress stays on your device, and your voice never leaves your phone.

8. Found a bug, or something that reads wrong?

Tell us — especially if a scenario’s “best read” seems off. Social cues are contextual, and we’d rather fix them than defend them. Email support@spotthecue.com.
