   Checking in

   

   Give the front desk your name and time. They may have forms or ask for ID/insurance, then you’ll wait to be called.

   With the nurse

   

   They’ll take basics (weight, blood pressure) and ask why you’re in. A short, honest summary is perfect.

   With the doctor

   

   Describe what’s going on — reading from notes on your phone is fine. Asking questions is expected.

   Wrapping up

   

   They’ll suggest next steps (tests, a prescription, rest). Repeat it back to be sure, and ask how to follow up if it doesn’t improve.
