Walking in, meeting people, and finding your footing.

Walking in

Arrive on time and check in at reception or with whoever you were told to find. “Hi, I’m [name] — it’s my first day” is perfect.

Meeting people

You’ll meet a lot of names fast, and forgetting them is normal. A smile and “nice to meet you” covers most introductions.

Good to know: Asking a name again later is fine: “Sorry, remind me your name?”

When unsure

Asking where things are or how something works is expected on day one — not a weakness.
